JUNE 20, 2023 Laura Sack, a partner in the New York office of Davis Wright Tremaine LLP and co-leader of the firm's East Coast labor and employment law practice, has been named to the 2023 list of Notable Women in Law by Crain's New York.

The list honors 100 women across all practice areas who are "at the pinnacle of their profession" and "whose impact radiates well beyond the clients they serve."

"Laura is an extraordinary client advocate who is tenacious, effective, and also full of heart," said Jenna Mooney, firmwide co-chair of Davis Wright's employment services group. "Her dedication to helping clients achieve their strategic goals is matched by her determination to give back to the firm and the community. We're very proud to call her our colleague."

Laura is regularly engaged to defend clients in highly publicized and/or especially high-stakes disputes. Among the clients she has successfully represented in litigation over the past 18 months are Paramount Global, T-Mobile, and Warner Brothers Discovery. During this same period, she has also worked with a number of well-known employers to resolve very sensitive employment matters through mediation or direct negotiation. She is a go-to trainer for employers nationwide on how to create and maintain a respectful workplace.

"I'm deeply grateful to play a role in addressing workplace issues that are integral to our clients' success," said Laura. "The employment arena has never been in a period of greater change. Together with my clients and my remarkable Davis Wright colleagues, I'm privileged to have the opportunity to learn and grow every day."

Laura's service to the firm and the community has been extensive. As one of two professional development partners for Davis Wright's labor and employment team, she has been deeply involved in the performance management and professional/career development of more than two dozen early-career lawyers on both coasts. She plays a strong role in ensuring that colleagues from under-represented populations are well supported by the firm and in recent years, she has helped several of them achieve promotion from associate to counsel, and from counsel to partner.

Laura is a dedicated participant in Susan G. Komen fundraisers and raised nearly $10,000 as part of a three-day walk event last fall. As a longtime team leader for NY Cares' Winter Wishes program, she also helped provide holiday presents to low-income children. She participated in the VoteRiders nonpartisan letter-writing campaign, helping explain voter ID rules in Georgia and Texas, and she led a pro bono research project on reproductive health issues in Tennessee. In her legal practice, Laura represents many New York City-based nonprofits, including the ASPCA, Robin Hood Foundation, Center for Justice Innovation, Vera Institute of Justice, and Trinity Church Wall Street.

Laura has been ranked for years in the Chambers USA guide to the country's leading attorneys for business and she is also a fellow of the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers.
