The Internet of Things (IoT) is one of the top tech transformation stories of 2017, and Seattle is already a hotbed for making IoT real. With a seemingly endless scope to connect people, things and machines, IoT has captured our attention and sparked our imaginations in ways previously relegated to the pages of science fiction. Yet widespread adoption of IoT requires a break from entrenched business models and distribution channels. This will bring challenges for some and opportunities for others. Washington state’s priority is to help companies here position themselves on the opportunity side of the equation in the coming era of IoT.

We were pleased to welcome Rep. Suzan DelBene, who serves on the IP & Internet subcommittee of the House Judiciary Committee. Reelected in November to represent Washington state’s 1st Congressional District, congresswoman DelBene shared her experience and insights as we head into the new administration.
