DWT's John Seiver recently attended Comcast's Digital Inclusion Day in Memphis, Tennessee to help promote the company's Internet Essentials program. John was on hand with U.S. Olympic gold medalists Jackie Joyner-Kersee, Monique Lamoureux-Morando, and Jocelyne Lamoureux-Davidson, Comcast executives, and government and business leaders to help raise awareness about digital equality issues in the city and across the country.

In three events across the city, Comcast donated 180 laptops to students and teachers to close digital divides and accelerate learning. Other such events will take place in Miami; Houston; Detroit; Chicago; Albuquerque, New Mexico; Pittsburgh; Boston; Washington, D.C.; Sacramento, California; and Spokane, Washington.

On behalf of DWT, John pledged support of 10 families for one year to participate in the Internet Essentials/Digital Inclusion program.

Since 2011, the Internet Essentials program has provided more than 8 million low-income individuals with broadband internet access, including nearly 150,000 in the Memphis area.
