As Lit Daily's Ross Todd reports, our team, together with attorneys from Latham & Watkins and Gibson Dunn, fended off $30 million in fraud claims brought in arbitration by a company that participated in the CNBC reality television show "The Profit."
The defendants were production company Machete (represented by Davis Wright), Camping World (represented by Latham), and NBCUniversal (represented by Gibson Dunn).
The arbitrator found a "complete failure of competent, credible evidence" of fraud and awarded $7 million in total attorney fees—a victory that earned the three firms a "shout-out" in this week's column.
Davis Wright's team also included senior paralegal Adrianna Gutierrez and associate Sam Turner.
