Hotels & Resorts
Overview
Hotels & Resorts
Development projects, portfolio and individual acquisitions, debt and equity financing, management contracts, and environmental reviews for hotel and resort projects of all sizes are all in our wheelhouse. We “speak boutique” and have guided a number of independent inns from deal inception to the arrival of their first guest. We represent publicly traded hotel companies with strategy and implementation. Our expertise in intellectual property, labor and employment, franchising, corporate, and tax issues helps clients avoid conflict and, when issues arise, resolve them. Due to our wealth of experience and memberships in key industry organizations, our representation is informed by knowledge of the current and future hospitality landscape. We are called on as experts to speak at industry conferences such as at NYU and ALIS.
Creative solutions
Excited by the opportunity to innovate, our team thrives on a challenge. When hotel development and financing was at a standstill, we used our relationships to help several clients through successful equity raises, SBA loans and S&L financing to keep projects moving that otherwise would have stalled. When a major city passed an initiative imposing multiple unnecessary burdens on hotels and guests alike, we represented industry associations in successfully mounting an appellate court challenge. And when a major hotel management company needed to remodel several of its hotels in short order, we protected their interests through sophisticated drafting and negotiating of all of their design and construction contracts.
Trusted by industry leaders
We have worked with some of the most recognizable properties and names in the industry, including Ritz-Carlton, Fairmont, Ace Hotels, and Red Lion Hotels, along with a number of large resorts throughout the Western United States. Major hotel owners, operators, and management groups rely on our team as principal outside counsel, including American Pacific International Capital and Pacific Hotel Management.
